SHERMAN PLAZA @ 4650 BROADWAY
PROJECT VOIDED SLAB ACHIEVEMENTS:
A dead load reduction of 160 cubic yards of concrete or approximately 324 Tons.
The voided slab allowed for long spans without beams.
The displaced concrete resulted in less cement and a lower carbon footprint reduced by 34 Tons of CO².
This residential tower in the Inwood section of Manhattan contains a basketball court on the 3rd level. Cobiax USA Voids were selected by Structural Engineering firm, Desimone Consulting Engineers, of NYC to cover approximately 8,100 square feet and were chosen to allow for the large spans over the basketball court without losing headroom.
