PROJECT VOIDED SLAB ACHIEVEMENTS:
A dead load reduction of 31 cubic yards of concrete or approximately 63 Tons.
The voided slab allowed for 32 ft. spans without beams.
The displaced concrete resulted in less cement and a lower carbon footprint reduced by 7 Tons of CO².
This existing residential tower in midtown Manhattan was extended from 20 to 25 stories. Cobiax USA CLS Voids were selected by Structural Engineering firm, Desimone Consulting Engineers, of NYC to cover approximately 3,600 sf and were chosen to allow for the large spans without changing slab thickness as well as reducing the dead load.
