Society Brooklyn & Sackett Place
Cobiax USA Voids were selected by Structural Engineering firm Desimone Consulting Engineers of NYC to cover approximately 102,000 sf and were chosen to reduce the dead load on the foundation.
PROJECT VOIDED SLAB ACHIEVEMENTS:
A dead load reduction of 703 cubic yards of concrete or approximately 1,424 Tons.
The dead load reduction reduced the foundation cost considerably.
The removal of the concrete resulted in less cement and a lower carbon footprint reduced by 152 Tons of CO².
Located in Gowanus, Brooklyn, Society Brooklyn and Sackett Place are two independent mixed-use towers totaling 605,000 sf. The developments feature 517 apartments in total.
Society Brooklyn is 371,000 sf with 344 units comprising of studios to two-bedroom residences. Sackett Place is 234,000 sf with 173 units and is geared towards families with one to three-bedroom residences. Both developments include a wellness center, outdoor swimming pool, and roof terrace, which overlooks retail at base, the expansive waterfront park and esplanade.
