Wakefield Grace Church Complex - Bronx, NY
The flat voided slabs selected by Desimone Consulting Engineers were able to accommodate the tight site and fit within the zoning height limit.
PROJECT VOIDED SLAB ACHIEVEMENTS:
A dead load reduction of 246 cubic yards of concrete or approximately 498 Tons.
The removal of the concrete resulted in less cement and a lower carbon footprint reduced by 53 Tons of CO².
Wakefield Grace United Methodist Church Complex, located at 4750 White Plains Rd., Bronx, NY, is a new development of seventy-two low-income housing units for seniors along with a new church. The low-income housing is much needed in this area of the Bronx. Cobiax USA voids covered approximately 28,500 s.f. of the total 47,600 s.f. building.
